The principal activity in the division is the provision of self-catering holidays in mobile-homes and tents pre-sited on high quality European camp-sites through the Eurocamp and Keycamp brands.
Ecamp and Eurocamp Independent are the division’s subsidiary brands selling third party owned self-catering accommodation. Own a Holiday Home offers customers the opportunity to purchase affordable holiday homes in France and Spain.
Product Details
The division currently uses some 7,500 mobile-homes and 1,800 tents on 190 camp-sites across Europe and in Florida. In many cases both brands have accommodation on the same camp-site.The two brands offer a similar core product with differentiation through marketing and distribution.
Pricing
UK prices for our holidays vary from approximately £300 to £2000 depending on the type of accommodation chosen, holiday duration and any travel requirements (e.g. ferry crossing). Customers pay a small deposit at the time of booking with the remaining balance required 12 weeks before the holiday.Distribution
The division’s customers, predominantly families with school-age children, come from the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany and six other European countries. Marketing to customers with pre-school children and couples has increased demand outside the peak school holiday period.Sales are mainly direct through the call centre or via the internet. In the UK, Keycamp also sells through high street travel agents.
Suppliers
Holidaybreak does not own or operate camp-sites. Pitches are reserved for tents and mobile-homes on specially selected top of the range sites. Typically these are independent, family-run businesses.Offices & Employees
The Camping Division’s head office is in Northwich, Cheshire where all UK-based brands operate. Eurocamp's overseas offices are located in Amersfoort (Holland), Hamburg (Germany) and Copenhagen (Denmark). Keycamp shares the Dutch, German and Danish offices and also has an office in Cork (Ireland).The division employs approximately 400 permanent staff across all offices. During the holiday season the division employs around 1,500 temporary overseas staff as campsite couriers or in related positions.
